Discover a clear, step-by-step guide designed to help you confidently use phrasal verbs and elevate your English skills.
What are Phrasal Verbs
A phrasal verb is a combination of two (or sometimes three) words that acts as a single verb. It consists of:
- A Verb (e.g., get, look, go)
- A Particle (a preposition or adverb like up, off, out)
The Key Rule: When these words are put together, they usually create a completely new meaning that is different from the original verb.
Example: > * Give = to hand something to someone.
“Dar, pasar”
Pero “Give up” cambia su signficado completamente debido a la partícula que lo sigue, en ese caso, la preposición “up”.
Give up = to stop trying or quit.
